Today, despite everything, I'm so deeply proud to be a founder and a builder. We set out to make a foolishly large impact on the world, often beginning with the stories we tell ourselves in our minds. We have an irrational belief, and we give a f*ck. I've spent the past four years pouring everything in my soul into building Heard alongside Victoria, and perhaps this is the tragic flaw of us founders and early employees.

But I can't help but feel absolutely devastated for the other builders, employees, and customers where this narrative isn’t as true.

I deeply appreciate the love and support today, and we remain (and will remain) solvent and have incredible capital partners who have already stepped up to weather this brief moment of uncertainty. There’s a broad narrative around stoicism and calm, and that’s helpful, but we need to have our emotions, and give ourselves space to process. The irony of these moments, and of startups, is that you don't always have time to process. Living in what feels like this false reality is disheartening, and the very real tantalizing pain and intense pressure is overwhelming. Last night, Victoria and I worked tirelessly to identify how to structure a new bank account and open four new depository accounts, only to discover that the wire wouldn't transfer from SVB. It's hard to even begin to fathom the obscurity of today. Waking up to find out that $XM of dollars had vanished and was no longer accessible is something I never thought I'd experience in my lifetime.
